The positive Eco balance with Nature. Wood is a natural resource that is continually regenerated and is also completely utilized as a source of energy. Around 30 to 50 % of the energy used in parquet production can in this way be provided in a natural life-cycle by regenerative energy resources. Furthermore, wood is CO2-neutral, causing no greenhouse effect. We completely support the demand for tropical wood from sustainable use. Whenever possible we process only wood from controlled forestry, not only from responsibility towards the global natural wood resources, which should not be eliminated by destruction or cut and burn practices, but also because our company philosophy and the ISO 14001 Environmental and Safety Certificate oblige us to. In the case of all wood types marked by us with our environmental logo, our customers can rely on their production from sustainable use and/or on their bearing one of the internationally recognized environmental labels FSC, PEFC, CSA (Canada) and AFTS (USA).

In addition, we have set ourselves the goal by the year 2005 of offering only parquet from wood that has been produced according the criteria of sustainability.

Considerable research and development have contributed to the result that all the parquet adhesives and varnishes used by Bauwerk produce no solvent emis-sions harmful to the environment. Throughout the entire production chain, Bauwerk manufactures in a completely eco-friendly manner, using state-of-the-art techniques and the latest best practices, designed to respect the environment.

Parquet ensures the right room climate. Wood, a natural product, lives and „breathes“. It absorbs heat and moisture and releases them again. In this way a wooden floor contributes to a balanced room climate. Parquet feels warm to the feet and is hygienic (clusters of bacteria and dust mites have no chance of living).
