First treatment. Surface treatment in the factory protects the products from penetration of dirt and moisture and is visible as a wonderfully even surface. The joints, because of prefinishing, do not offer perfect, complete protection. We therefore urgently recommend for a newly laid prefinished parquet a first treatment by your parquet specialist. He will spread hot or liquid wax or a suitable polish over the surface by machine and work it into the joints.
Regular cleaning. Maintenance cleaning of the parquet is done with a vacuum cleaner and special floor cloths to which the dirt is attracted. For resistant dirt we recommend simple damp cleaning from time to time with a well wrung out cloth - damp (lightly damp, i.e. not too much water should get onto the parquet!).
Maintenance cleaning. With an occasional make over (about every 6 months in the living area, depending on wear), your Bauwerk parquet flooring will always regain its radiant appearance and the lifetime will be increased considerably. For sealed parquet a polish is used for the purpose, for oiled surfaces special care oils.
